Why Alignment Matters

Misalignment Destroys Tires. Quietly.

A vehicle that's only slightly out of alignment won't feel dramatically different to drive. But it will wear your tires unevenly — eating through the inside or outside edge while the center looks fine. By the time it's visible, you've already lost 20–30% of your tire life.

Long Beach roads — the 710 connector, Atlantic Blvd, surface streets near the port — are rough on suspension geometry. Most vehicles in this area should have alignment checked at least annually. If you're buying new tires, alignment should be part of the same visit.

What Our Alignment Service Covers

2-Wheel (Front-End) Alignment

Adjusts camber, caster, and toe on the front axle only. Correct for older vehicles with solid rear axles, trucks, and vehicles where only the front is adjustable.

4-Wheel Alignment

Adjusts all four corners — required for vehicles with independent rear suspension (most modern cars, crossovers, SUVs). The most thorough alignment available and what we recommend when you buy new tires.

What We Measure and Adjust

Camber

Vertical tilt of the tire viewed from the front. Incorrect camber causes inside or outside edge wear.

Toe

Whether tires point inward (toe-in) or outward (toe-out) when viewed from above. The most common cause of rapid, feathered wear.

Caster

The steering axis angle viewed from the side. Affects steering feel, straight-line stability, and return-to-center response.

Thrust Angle

The relationship between rear axle direction and vehicle centerline. Out of spec on 4-wheel alignments causes the "dog tracking" look of a vehicle going sideways.

Modified Vehicles Welcome

We regularly align lowriders, dropped sport compacts, lifted trucks, and custom suspension builds. Modified vehicles often need aftermarket alignment hardware to reach proper spec — we can advise on what's required and perform the alignment once the right components are in place.

Alignment FAQ

The most obvious signs are pulling to one side when driving straight, a steering wheel that isn't centered when driving straight, vibration through the steering wheel, or uneven tire wear — more wear on one edge than the other. If you've recently hit a large pothole, curb, or had suspension work done, an alignment check is recommended.

Most manufacturers recommend checking alignment every 12,000–15,000 miles, or once a year. You should also check alignment after any suspension or steering repair, after hitting a significant pothole or curb, or anytime you notice uneven tire wear or steering that doesn't feel right.

A 2-wheel (front-end) alignment only adjusts the front axle. A 4-wheel alignment adjusts all four corners and is required for vehicles with independent rear suspension (most modern cars and SUVs). We check your vehicle's suspension design and recommend the appropriate alignment type.

A standard alignment takes 45–60 minutes. If worn suspension components are discovered during the alignment setup, those need to be repaired first — we'll let you know before proceeding.

It's strongly recommended. If your alignment was out before the new tires, the same misalignment will continue wearing the new tires unevenly. Installing new tires and then getting an alignment is the most cost-effective sequence — don't let a $700 set of tires wear out faster because of a $90 alignment skip.

Yes. We regularly align modified vehicles — lowriders, dropped sport compacts, lifted trucks, and custom builds. Modified vehicles often require adjustable components to reach proper alignment specs, and we have experience working with those setups.
