Used Tires in Long Beach

Inspected, safe, and priced for drivers on a budget. We check every used tire before it goes on a vehicle — tread depth, sidewalls, age. If it doesn't pass, we don't sell it.

Our Used Tire Standard

Every Tire Inspected Before It's Sold

Not every tire shop that sells used tires inspects them. We do. Every used tire at Ochoa's goes through a physical inspection before it goes on a vehicle — because putting bad rubber on a customer's car isn't something we're willing to do for any profit margin.

We've been in North Long Beach since 2002. Our reputation is built on customers coming back. Selling a tire we'd be embarrassed to stand behind doesn't fit that model.

Our Used Tire Inspection Checklist

Tread depth ≥ 4/32"

Measured with a gauge, not eyeballed. Most inventory comes in at 5–7/32".

No sidewall cracking or bubbles

Cracks and bulges mean structural failure risk. We reject any tire showing these.

No improper repairs

We reject tires with sidewall plugs, shoulder repairs, or evidence of run-flat damage.

DOT date code check

We screen for tires over 6 years old — rubber degrades regardless of visible tread.

Bead and mounting surface

Inspect for bead damage that could cause improper seating and slow leaks.

Structural integrity

Visual and manual inspection for internal belt separation or impact damage.

When a Used Tire Makes Sense

One Damaged Tire on an Older Vehicle

If you hit a pothole and blew one tire on a car with 80,000 miles, buying one matching used tire is often the most sensible repair. We'll match tread depth to your other tires to keep things balanced.

Tight Budget, Need to Drive Now

If you need to get back on the road this week and can't spend $600 on four new tires right now, a set of quality used tires gets you moving safely. Use our financing for new tires when the budget recovers.

Spare or Temp Use

A used tire works perfectly as a full-size spare or for a dedicated winter/track set where you want to minimize cost on a set you won't drive every day.

Tow Rig or Work Trailer

For a utility trailer, track trailer, or a secondary work truck that doesn't see highway miles, inspected used tires are a practical choice that won't compromise safety.

Used Tire Questions Answered

Used tires from Ochoa's are safe because we inspect every single one before it goes on a vehicle. We check remaining tread depth (minimum 4/32" on anything we sell), look for sidewall cracks, bubbles, improper repairs, and check the DOT date code to screen out tires older than 6 years. If it doesn't pass, we won't sell it.

Used tire prices vary based on size and brand. Common passenger sizes start at lower prices for budget shoppers; larger or performance sizes run higher. Call us with your tire size and we'll give you a price over the phone before you make the drive.

We don't sell used tires with less than 4/32" of tread remaining. Most of our inventory comes in at 5/32" to 7/32". We measure with a tread depth gauge — not visually — and we'll show you the reading if you ask.

Yes. Mount, balance, and TPMS reset are available for used tires just like new ones. We recommend balancing any tire going on your vehicle to prevent vibration and uneven wear.

You can, but there are rules. Tires on the same axle should be the same brand, model, and size. If you're putting used tires on the rear of an AWD vehicle, the tread difference from the fronts should be minimal. We'll advise on what's safe for your specific vehicle.
