What we do

The Whole Job, Not Just the Bolt-On

A coilover install that ends when the last bolt is torqued is half a job. Height, alignment, and a road test are what make the car drive right afterward.

Both shops

Installation

Full coilover kits installed on cars, trucks, and SUVs. We assemble, torque to spec, and check clearance at full lock and full droop before it leaves.

Measured, not eyeballed

Ride Height Setup

We set the height you ask for and measure it corner to corner so the car sits level side to side instead of leaning on one spring.

From $110

Alignment After

Lowering changes camber and toe immediately. Every coilover install we do is followed by an alignment on the rack at Cherry Ave.

Road test first

Noise Diagnosis

Knocking over bumps, a clunk on turn-in, a squeak at low speed — we road test and inspect before selling parts. Often it's a top hat or a loose collar, not the coilover.

Builds we set up

Four Kinds of Cars, Four Different Answers

Daily Driven & Lowered

Street cars that need to clear driveways and Long Beach speed bumps. We set a height that looks right without scraping every entrance on 2nd Street.

Sport Compact & Canyon

Stiffer damping, more negative camber, and an alignment set for grip rather than tire life. We'll tell you what the tradeoff costs in tread.

Lowrider & Custom

Long Beach has been building these for decades and so have we. Bring the plan and we'll work with it.

Truck & Off-Road

Adjustable coilovers on prerunner-style builds and lifted trucks — height and damping you can change instead of a fixed lift.

Troubleshooting

Symptoms & Likely Causes

Bring the car in — including cars another shop set up. We road test first and diagnose before quoting parts.

What you notice What it usually is
Clunk over bumps Loose top hat, worn bearing, or a spring unseating at full droop.
Sits lower on one side Uneven perch height, or a spring that settled after the first few hundred miles.
Inner tire wear Camber and toe left at factory spec after lowering. An alignment fixes it before the tire is ruined.
Collars won't turn Seized threads from SoCal road grime. They usually clean up — replacement is the last resort, not the first quote.
Rubbing at full lock Height and wheel offset fighting each other. We measure both instead of guessing.

Coilover FAQs

Yes. Bring the kit and we'll install it. We ask that it's complete and correct for your vehicle before the appointment — missing hardware turns a same-day job into a multi-day one. If you're unsure the kit fits, bring it by and we'll check it against the car first.

It depends on the vehicle and the kit — a strut-type front on a sport compact and an adjustable setup on a lifted truck are different jobs. Call with the year, make, model, and the kit you have or want, and we'll quote parts and labor up front. We don't start on a number you haven't approved.

Yes. Lowering or raising the car changes camber and toe right away, and driving on the old settings wears the inner shoulders off a set of tires quickly. Standard alignments start at $110 for cars and $125 for trucks and SUVs. Lowered and modified setups sometimes need adjustable hardware to reach spec, which we quote before starting.

Yes. Tell us the height you want, or bring a reference, and we'll set it and measure corner to corner so it sits level. We'll also tell you honestly when a height is going to cause rubbing, scraping, or bottoming out on real streets — the decision stays yours.

Not necessarily. Quality adjustable coilovers set at a sane height and damping can ride close to stock. Cheap kits at maximum drop ride badly and wear out fast. We'll tell you which category your kit is in before we install it, not after.

Yes, even if another shop did the install. We road test the car, put it on the rack, and find what's actually making the noise — most often a top hat, a bearing, a loose collar, or a spring unseating at full droop. Diagnosis comes before parts.

Bring the kit and the car.

We'll quote the install, set the height you want, and align it before you drive it home.
